Your dental health is essential to your wellbeing and confidence. Regular check-ups can ensure you maintain good oral health, and any problems can be identified and addressed early before they become serious. Tooth Booth dental lounge provides more than simple check-ups. Instead, we provide each patient with an individual dental health care plan to ensure the ongoing health of their teeth.
Our experienced Dental team offers a wide range of general dentistry service to keep your whole family in great oral health. We pride ourselves on treating each patient individually, whether you are visiting for a simple procedure or need a more complex treatment. Our team recognises that visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience for some people and make it our priority to treat every patient with care and respect.
Why Should I Have A Regular Dental Examination?
We like to see our patient at six monthly intervals. It is worthwile attending even if your teeth seem strong and healthy and problem-free. This is because whilst small problems may not yet cause symptoms such problems are easily detectable by our dentists. By providing treatment as early as possible, we aim to reduce your risk of dental emergencies and discomfort. Earlier treatment is likely to be quicker and less expensive, saving you time and money. It is also nice to be reassured that your mouth is both healthy and properly maintained. Our low-cost dental plans are a great way to access affordable preventative dental care which includes your regular six monthly examinations.
Will I Need Dental X-Rays At Every Dental Exam?
Most adults in reasonable dental health will only need a full set of x-rays every two years or so. If we feel you need x-rays more often, then we will discuss this with you and our recommendations will be based on your individual level of risk. Our digital x-ray equipment meet stringent safety standards and we take every precaution to ensure your safety. Regular dental x-rays help us to keep an eye on your dental health by showing us areas not visible to the naked eye. Otherwise, we only take x-rays when absolutely necessary, for example, if you have a toothache or another issue that requires further examination. We may also use x-rays to plan tooth extractions and root canal treatments, and for planning more advanced procedures such as orthodontics and dental implants. General Dentist Brisbane
Is Root Canal Treatment Painful?
Treatment will not feel any worse than having a tooth filled and afterwards your tooth should be pain-free. Teeth that have had root canal treatment will normally need to be restored with a crown that covers up the tooth completely, protecting and preserving the tooth so it will last for many years to come. What Is An Oral Cancer Screening?
An oral cancer screening is quick, painless and non-invasive as our dentists will gently examine all the tissues inside your mouth to check for any signs of abnormalities that include colour changes, changes to the texture of these tissues or any lumps or sore spots that are failing to heal properly. We regularly screen patients during routine dental exams for signs of oral cancer as our dentists are specially trained to identify early signs of this disease. Early diagnosis and treatment can help enormously with the prognosis of this disease as often detection at the later stages leads to more difficult and invasive treatment. General Dentist Brisbane
What Happens During A Dental Examination?
A dental examination does not involve any actual treatment but is used to diagnose any problems you may have, with or without you knowing about them. By thoroughly examining your teeth and gums, we can detect any small issues and recommend the most suitable treatments. To do this, we may take dental x-rays of any problem areas as well as photographs. Once your dental exam is complete, we will discuss any problems we may have discovered, and provide you with a written treatment plan and an explanation of any procedures we feel will benefit your dental health. We never recommend unnecessary treatments, and we always encourage questions about any treatments you might need as we want you to have control over your dental health, General Dentist Brisbane.
When Might I Need Root Canal Treatment?
If you have a tooth that is badly damaged then it can become infected and very painful. Common symptoms include toothache or pain when biting down on the tooth and the gum around the tooth appearing swollen and/or red. Root canal therapy is an extremely good treatment to relieve discomfort, and to save badly infected teeth. If you do have toothache then it is better to come and see us for a proper diagnosis as soon as you can to maximise our ability to save your tooth. Treatment is most effective when carried out at the earliest stage of infection. General Dentist Brisbane
When Might I Need A Tooth Extraction?
Whenever possible we will try to save your natural teeth but occasionally tooth extraction can be the best solution. We may suggest removing a tooth if it is very badly infected or is damaged without any possibility of us being able to save the tooth. Wisdom teeth often require removal due to too little space in the jaw to comfortably accommodate them. Our dentists will ensure you are kept comfortable during this minor surgical procedure, or where appropriate we will refer you to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. We may choose this option if you require complex wisdom tooth removal. This will be a local specialist that we fully trust to look after our patients as We Care about your dental health and your comfort is always our top priority.
